Who am I ?

I’m Lauren Alston, a university graduate with a first class degree in Human Nutrition and Exercise Science and a Type 1 Diabetic. I offer one to one consultations, group workshops and online support to help you achieve your goals, and make you feel your best.

I have for many years had to try to have good dietary habits and lifestyle to support my condition and prevent any complications, however I know it is not always easy to achieve a colourful and nourishing diet. Day-to-day life can play havoc, making us feel like we don’t have the time, energy, or the motivation to achieve this. 

However, I want to help you work around the reasons, that are holding you back from feeling the best you can and reaching your goals. I am here to help YOU achieve, providing education and knowledge that can help you make simple changes to your diet and lifestyle, that will help.

Weight Maintenance

Long-term weight maintenance is encouraged with the support of an individual who is educated to degree level. With a First Class Degree In Human Nutrition and Exercise Science (BSc) I will be able to support, educate and guide you to reach and maintain your ideal body weight.

Everyone is unique – each of us have different requirements, preferences, lifestyles and goals. I will provide a service to you which is tailored and personal to you.

Weight Loss

Losing body fat is difficult for most and once lost, weight usually returns.  However having the right support can be of benefit to maintain weight loss. With the provision of different strategies, suited to your requirement I will support, motivate and educate you on how weight loss can be achieved and maintained.

I got a nutrition plan from Lauren as I was struggling to hit my goals with my weight I had plateaued, and I was getting frustrated. My recovery from training was also a problem as I suffered with muscle soreness and fatigue. She gave me a clear and structured nutritional split with options of variable days and provided me with a tracker sheet, recipes and daily example plans. This gave me room to enjoy my weekends by having a way of including alcohol or a meal out.

My Story

Meet Lauren – Founder of LA Nutrition

In 2019 – I graduated from the University of Central Lancashire and obtained a first class degree in Human Nutrition and Exercise Science (BSc).

I worked hard at University, learnt a lot and developed many skills. I learnt how important nutrients are for our bodies, how they influence our health and well being, and most importantly how to achieve a good nutrition to help better health and well-being, manage body weight, build muscle and lose fat.

My dissertation topic also gave me an understanding of how personal, social, emotional factors and the environment can impact our food choices, and eating behaviours which I found to be highly interesting.  I saw many reasons as to why people opt for certain food choices, and have certain eating behaviours – including time, convenience, money, resources, knowledge and even the mood that they are in, and how the food that we eat impacts that mood

I have also been fortunate to have visited other parts of the world, viewing how professional individuals help individuals  obtain good health and well-being, and how professionals assist individuals to reach their individual goals (weight loss, muscle gain, health improvement), and assist in improving their sporting performance and recovery.

 

Being able to see how others have helped to support and improve other people’s heath has attracted me to want to apply my knowledge and relevant skills to help you obtain and improve your own health and well being, reach targets, and help aid with athletic performance, training and recovery.

My Approach

I offer evidence-based, personal support and advice to help you achieve your goals, and make you feel your best. 

This can be online, or face-to-face and will give you the opportunity to discuss what you want you want to achieve and investigate your requirements.
